Review
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review.
My first thought after reading this book, “Randall family and several instances which occur in this book felt realistic” (Not the big game changer one’s).
Olivia loves her mother Cindy. Olivia’s world revolves only around her mother. Her mother is caring, lovely and protective of her. She will be distraught when her mother dies in a car accident. While looking for certain things for her mother’s funeral Olivia accidentally discovers truth about herself and her mother. Her mother isn’t who she thinks she is. She is been kidnapped and separated from her family.
“She stole me from my family. Yet, I feel that she’s been stolen from me”.
Now she moved in with Randall Family. As a teenager she struggles with her identity as Olivia and Sarah. Post this point book is total emotional roller-coaster ride. Her acceptance of family and vice versa along with acceptance to her past, present and moving forward seems like a bigger challenge. Even though she grew up knowing she has cousin Noah; she doesn’t know much about him. Now he is in her school and she feel the connection with him. Randall’s family is skeptical about his motives. How she overcomes all that and takes life ahead is worth a read.
Noah was supportive throughout. I could totally connect with Melissa’s emotion. It feels like we need to hate Cindy, but I understood her and loved her for the way she bought up Sarah. Sarah’s siblings were lovely. I’m in love with Landon. Liked the way how Sarah handled things. Well written plot.
Overall, its and emotional roller costar ride with fun, drama, tragedy, realities, love, lies and truth. More than all this it’s a journey of self-discovery, finding one’s true self among the chaos of the life. For a new author, she has done an admirable job of taking us through the tumultuous emotions in this book. Give it a try reading it. You might like it more than you think. Blurb as per goodreads
Everything she knew was a lie…
Her mother. Her abductor.
After her beloved mother passes away, Olivia discovers a box filled with secrets that shatters everything she thought she knew.
The woman who raised her, with love and kindness, was never who she claimed to be. The truth thrusts Olivia into a new town with strangers who claim to be her rightful family.
Torn from all she’s ever known, Olivia hunts to find who she truly is in the midst of this topsy-turvy mystery. While forbidden to contact her abductor’s relatives, there is one caring and compassionate boy that may be able to help her uncover her hidden truth.
There’s one problem – he’s her abductor’s nephew.
