Title: Chasing the Idol (Infamous #1)
Author: Ivy Wild
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐1/4
Type: Series. Trilogy Book1
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Narration: Limited third party
Primary Characters: Sophie & Connor
Note: Ends with cliffhanger and it’s a 3 series book.
This is the first book in Chasing the Idol Trilogy. It’s been narrated in limited third party view. This book revolves around subplots of friends to lovers and second chance romance. The combo is what intrigued me in the beginning.
Sophie and Connor were friends during their college time. They haven’t seen each other in years since Sophie ghosted him for pop star musical career. Now years later, Sophie is back to finish her degree. She is even caught in some media scandal and her career is now on verge of diminishing. Connor has established himself well in business over years and is now a guest faculty in the same college Sophie is attending.
Conner is successful, possessive and dominant. Sophie gives a feeling of both sweet and daring girl. Their combo seems perfect. Will Connor and Sophie be able to get past all their differences from past? Will attraction between them fade away over period?
Narration style is good. Character building is fine, but I expected more in terms of relationship building. They have a blanket cover of knowing each other for long time, yet when Sophie and Connor meet each other after years, it felt like they just picked up from where they ended. I felt, the development was missing. Skylar seemed intriguing and lovely as a best friend. Aubrey character gave creeps. She is described so well for a villain r ole.
Overall, if you are a fan of series which revolve around plots – “friend to lovers” or “Second chance romance” with kinky touch, then this book is for you.
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review.

Blurb as per good reads
Sophie Strong and Connor Driscoll used to be the closest of friends during college. That is, until Sophie was discovered and became a huge pop sensation, leaving her life and Connor behind.
But all that glitters isn’t gold.
And now she’s back in D.C. Just when Connor thought he was finally over her.
He was so wrong.
