Title: No Love Lost (Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten #5)
Author: Lexi Blake
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Genre: Contemporary Fiction Romance, Romantic Suspense, Action
Primary Characters: Beck (Erza) & Kim (Solo)
Narration: Limited third Party
From the time I first met Beck and Kim in Tucker’s story, I was intrigued by them. I was happy to know more about this divorced couple after having a glimpse of them in previous book. This book can be read as standalone, author has given enough background however, for better understanding its suggested to read other books in the series.
Beck and Solo are always at each other’s throat. Kim is constantly putting herself in Beck’s way. They are divorced for a longer while than they were together, yet, Kim tries to find a way for Beck to forgive her. Can Beck really forget the past and move ahead? With the CIA interfering and arresting Kim for the crimes she not committed, will they be able to move forward?
Book starts with Kim getting arresting in front of Beck and thinking she is alone in this battle. Beck can’t accept it and interferes in this. Solo has kept several secrets of her own. Levi still believes and is fixed on Kim. Will Levi come back for her because he believes she is his? Can they stop Levi for good this time?
The story is well written, the characters had depth. Emotions of the main protagonists felt authentic. I did struggle with the pacing a bit as I felt some parts seemed to hardly move the plot forward. Totally loved seeing all the secondary characters of M&M again. These secondary characters were the highlight of the book. Second gen McKay-Taggart team is fabulous. Teen kids are worse than their parents. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.
Overall, it is filled with suspense, action, danger, emotion, rogue CIA agent’s, Lost boys, along with glimpses of second gen McKay-Taggart team. Definitely suggested for Lexi’s M& M fans.
