Title: Onyx (Lux #2)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
My Rating: ****
Type: Series -Book2
Genre: Science Fiction, Fantasy Fiction, Alien Mojo
Narration: Single POV
Primary Characters: Daemon Black, Katy Swartz
I sort of binge read this entire series. This review may contain spoilers from book 1. I wasn’t happy with the first half but second half compensated for that.
The first half of the book sort of moved slow. Nothing much happened apart from Daemon being cheesy. I didn’t understand Kat’s logic for avoiding Daemon, after them fighting together side by side in the epic battle in book1.
In the second half plot got deeper, suspenseful and complex. With DOD snooping around all of them along with the reappearance of dead people, Katy is confused and disoriented. Now with bigger people around and changes in Katy being evident after being healed by Daemon they have to struggle to keep their secrets. This will make her bonding with Daemon stronger.
In this sequel we see Katy growing stronger and becoming independent. She makes mistake but she is ready to own them up and face the consequences. Daemon was cheesier in this. I sort of missed the old Daemon, but it was good to see this different side of him. A new character Blake is introduced in this. He is sort of creepier. Dee was side tracked a bit. I was hoping to see more of her talent being showcased, but I was disappointed on that. Adam was cute. Not sure how Andrew and Ashley will turn out.
Narration is wonderful. Flow has its own up’s and down. Some questions are still unanswered. Hopefully things get tied up well in the end.
Overall, its immensely enjoyable, good sequel. Read for yourself and let me know your thoughts on this.

BEING CONNECTED TO DAEMON BLACK SUCKS…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
SOMETHING WORSE THAN ARUM HAS COME TO TOWN
The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.
BUT THEN, EVERYTHING CHANGES
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them-from me?
NO ONE IS WHO THEY SEEM. AND NOT EVERYONE WILL SURVIVE THE LIES.
