Another exciting sequel in this series. Totally fallen for this alien Mojo. This review may contain spoilers from Book2. It has a wonderful action. Itโs fast paced and intense.
The story starts exactly where it was left off in Onyx. Dawson is back but Beth is still in the clutches of DOD. He is ready to do anything to bring her back. Looking at his desperation Katy promises to help Dawson. Daemon is not ok with Katyโs involvement but he reluctantly agrees.
Getting Beth back by infiltering into government organisation is not easy. They take help from unlikely alliances. And then there is the chance that all of this help is a big trap. The training, planning along with everything going around them will keep the readers on toes.
The character and relationship development between Katy and Daemon is at their best. They both grow so well. I liked their dynamics, from being funny to serious scenes, they blended so well as a couple despite being different.
Narration style is good with its own upโs and downs. We meet some new secondary characters. Luc and Paris are intriguing enough. Hope to see more of them in action in next series. Dee was total disappointment. I understand her grief, but she could have been much better. Ash and Andrew turned out different than I hoped. Dawson was ok, Hope to see him in his full potential soon.
It ends on a massive cliffhanger. It was a surprise twist, but not especially sad. But it really has me anxious to start the next book. I just couldnโt wait to get my hands on Origin. This is so far the intense, action packed, fast paced, tangled book in the series.

NO ONE IS LIKE DAEMON BLACK.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger… and they know it.
