The Beauty of Darkness(The Remnant Chronicles #3) by Mary E Pearson

Title: The Beauty of Darkness(The Remnant Chronicles #3)

Author: Mary E Pearson

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Type: Trilogy – Book 3

Genre: Historical Fantasy world, Magical world, Action & Adventure, Fiction

Primary Characters: Lia,  Rafe, Kaden

Secondary Characters: Pauline, Aster, Berdi, Gwyneth, Sven,Captian Azia, Griz,Jeb,Tavish, Orrin, Bryn, Regan, Eben, Natiya

Narration: Multiple POV

This book gives a satisfying conclusion for this trilogy. The ending was really fitting and harmonious but at some point, ending sort of felt rushed to me. In the last two books we saw the world of Venda and Morrighan, in this we get a few glimpses of Delbreck. Its not deeper, but with bigger war looming around it was sufficient.

This book picks up exactly where book two left off. Lia and Rafe must find a way to make it back to their kingdoms to warn them of the great danger heading their way. Not everyone believes in this danger like Lia does. She was the only one to see what the Komizar was truly up to, and as unbelievable as it might be, she must stop him at all cost.

Convincing the citizens and royals of Morrighan and Delbreck that the war is inevitable is not easy. Now Lia has to find a way to fight for the citizens of Venda as well. It’s not the Vendan citizen fault that Komizar is greedy. The last battle was a sort of anticlimactic. I was expecting some epic fight scene with Komizar and a bit more of heart felt drama, yet it was satisfying. Traitors must be rooted out, sacrifices must be made, and impossible odds must be overcome as the future of every kingdom hangs in the balance.

The gift or Magic–  That’s a weird thing… I wouldn’t call it magic, but it’s not a simple intuition either. One had to literally foresee it to be so specific in his or her predictions.

I loved the world building in this series. Characters are the best part. Secondary characters are lively. Character development was better than last two books. Characters is so firmly established, so deeply rooted, that no matter their past indiscretions, they must make things right for their people.  he plot is detailed, well thought out and perfectly strung. Action scenes were lively.

I loved how this trilogy was getting better and better with every book. This book was such a fun journey as a reader to experience.  It’s a very good series for those who want to start getting into fantasy genre and prefer political-intrigued fantasy books

The third and final book in the New York Times-bestselling Remnant Chronicles.

Lia has survived Venda―but so has a great evil bent on the destruction of Morrighan. And only Lia can stop it.

With war on the horizon, Lia has no choice but to assume her role as First Daughter, as soldier―as leader. While she struggles to reach Morrighan and warn them, she finds herself at cross-purposes with Rafe and suspicious of Kaden, who has hunted her down.
