Vow of Thieves (Dance of Thieves #2) by Mary E Pearson

Title: Vow of Thieves (Dance of Thieves #2)

Author:  Mary E. Pearson

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟3/4

Type: Duet – Book 2

Genre: Historical Fantasy world, Action & Adventure, Fiction

Primary Characters: Kazi, Jase

Secondary Characters: Wren,  Synové, Lia, Rafe, Kaden, Gazi, Natiya, Eben, Lydia, Nash, Priya, Paxton, Pauline, Mason, Gunner

Narration:  Dual POV

I wanted to know how the story progressed after the cliffhanger ending in book1.  Since I got a better copy of book this time, I was happy with quality and writing style. This book is lengthier and has some good amount of action and drama. It’s a beautiful conclusion to Kazi and Jase’s story.

When Kazi and Jase arrive in Hell’s mouth with good news they realize that in their absence lot of things have changed. Now Dragon has aroused again with different face. Jase is injured, Kazi is captured, unsure if the other person is alive or not. They must find a way to come out of this.  We see lot of secondary characters being very active in this.

All of Jase’s Siblings play an important role in the war against Montegue. Lot of secretes are revealed. We see a different turns and twist throughout. Character development has been better than last one. Pace of the book is ok. Writing style and depth of characters is good.

Wren, Synove, Paxton, Priya, Mason and gunner are all Gems. Their actions to save their family is absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing several characters from remanent chronicles again.

Overall, this book is not extraordinary. But action, character and plot were way better. This conclusion is satisfying. If you are a fan of “Remanent chronicles” world and if you are intrigued to know more about them then these two books are for you.

Vow of Thieves is the thrilling sequel to Dance of Thieves, set in the same world as Mary E. Pearson’s New York Times-bestselling Remnant Chronicles.

Kazi and Jase have survived, stronger and more in love than ever. Their new life now lies before them―the Ballengers will be outlaws no longer, Tor’s Watch will be a kingdom, and Kazi and Jase will meet all challenges side by side, together at last.

But an ominous warning mars their journey back, and they soon find themselves captured in a tangled web of deceit woven by their greatest enemies and unlikeliest allies, a place where betrayals run deeper and more deadly than either had thought possible, and where timeless ambitions threaten to destroy them both.
