Lord of Embers(The Demon Queen Trials #2) by C.N.Crawford

Title: Lord of Embers(The Demon Queen Trials #2)

Author:   C.N. Crawford

My Rating:  🌟1/2

Type: Series – Book 2

Genre: Urban Fantasy, Fantasy world, Magical world, Paranormal series

Primary Characters: Rowen, Orion

Narration: Dual POV

I was intrigued enough to pick the book 2. I was almost on verge of giving up on this several times. Somehow, I was able to skim though the pages. There is only a very tiny bit of plot progression for the overall storyline. It felt like a filler with lots of non- sense.

This book leaves off right where book one finished with Rowan getting exiled from the City of Thorns. Rowan and Orion wanting the king Cambrieal dead. Sequel went in a completely different direction than the first book and we got a bit lost from the original plot. More than half the book is sexual tension between Rowan and Orion. Even that wasn’t interesting.  Development of Rowan and Orion seemed non-existent

It was hard to digest the concept like hell is in Vermont because it’s a boring place. Going to hell in Car? Linking this to Salem Trails and underworld. It has no connection with each other and compete book was a filler.

I skimmed through 80% of this book and missed literally nothing. So, its ok, if you skip this book and directly pick the next one. I was so done with it that I couldn’t bring my self to pick next book even to see how series would continue. So this wasn’t for me. I wouldn’t suggest this to anyone.

Once, I was a broke college student. Now, it seems I’m destined to rule as the Lightbringer–queen of the demon realm. Except I have competition in the form of Orion, the Lord of Chaos. Like me, he has been marked as a leader. We can’t keep our hands off each other, even if he swore an oath to kill me.

It seems we both want the same thing–the crown. And in this battle of wills, only one of us will be left standing.
